Boone Gardiner Garden Center is committed to helping clean-up our environment and keep our Mother Earth healthy. We are proud to announce the formation of our new Boone Gardiner Green Team. We are constantly researching new technologies for more sustainable practices while seeking new partners to help create a better future for our children and the planet. Through our BGGT we offer the following eco-solutions to help us all “Turn Over A New Leaf”. 1. Organic Fertilizers, Pesticides, Soils, Composts and Mulches Boone Gardiner is currently using the following sustainable practices: 1. Converting our fleet to hybrid or other gas saving technologies The Boone Gardiner Green Team has been a dream of Matthew Gardiner’s since his days back on the University of Kentucky campus. While studying Horticulture and Agriculture he learned of the negative aspects of many common practices that our society unthinkingly does to the earth and of possible positive practices that can be employed instead with proper management. Matthew was the past President of the Uof K student chapter of the Sierra Club. His wife, Hope, was the Organic Farm inspector for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture and was involved in the start-up of the successful “Kentucky Proud” campaign. |
